ARC-Review: THE VIRGIN’S REVENGE by Dee Tenorio

If you can’t beat ’em…seduce ’em

Amanda Jackman’s love life is the stuff dreams are made of…which is fitting, because it’s all in her head. Thanks to six oversized, overbearing brothers who treat her like the family jewel, she’s lived in a padded little box.

Determined to get a life before she needs a padded little cell, she sets out to throw off the yoke and live on her own terms. Except she seriously underestimates the lengths to which her brothers will go to keep her safe and sound.

Cole Engstrom’s life might just be at an end. Cornered by all six of the massive Jackmans—men he normally considers his friends—he learns he’s their choice to marry their sister…or else. Make that first choice, but not the last.

Rather than watch Amanda’s brothers club their way through potential mates, Cole figures it’s best to just play along for a while and buy her some time to find a man of her own. It’s a good plan. Until Amanda figures it out—and decides he’s the one to relieve her of her “sheltered little virgin” status. One seduction at a time…

Warning: This sexy romp of a book contains a virgin, a man and a plan. Game. On.

First line:
“We want you to marry Mandy.”

Last line:
Still, it never hurt to keep a man guessing a little, right? “I’m definitely thinking about it.”

Memorable Scenes:
– that first kiss > Wow!
– the minigolf game > awesome!
– the handcuff scene > probably not what you think it is but it was a funny and hot scene!

Amanda ‘Mandy’ Jackman is proud, sweet and a little insecure underneath her boldness and her stubborn streak. She’s longing to get rid of the cordon of protective brothers and show them she can take care of herself.

Cole Engstrom is the hot motor cycle nerd with a heart of gold and loyal to the bone. I adored Cole in this book.

There’s quite some build up to the first sex scene and let me tell you it was so worth the wait. The sexual tension between Mandy and Cole is off the charts and that first sex scene was the epitome of hotness. I think my phone and me are still recovering from the heat stroke.

Humor! Everyone knows I love it in romance novels and THE VIRGIN’S REVENGE had it in spades! And it was so good. It went from subtle to laugh-out-loud and yet it never went over the top to slap-stick! I really enjoyed the “I know you know what I know but you don’t know I know” spiel both Mandy and Cole were playing thanks to their eavesdropping activities.

THE VIRGIN’S REVENGE had a cast of great characters, both main and secondary. There’s Cole and Mandy of course but we also have Susie who’s fun, outspoken and in your face. And how about Locke? Mandy’s protective eldest brother who is so surly and a pretty over-protective but you just know underneath is a man who just wants his loved ones to be happy, even if his way of achieving that isn’t always the wisest.

Every book I’ve read in this series just gets better and better! THE VIRGIN’S REVENGE is no exception. Dee Tenorio’s writing definitely suits my taste and with every book of hers I read I’m more enamored with it.

I’ve included a few memorable scenes at the beginning of this review but frankly this whole book was memorable. I enjoyed every scene it contained and loved every word. THE VIRGIN’S REVENGE is another awesome installment in this wonderful contemporary romance series. I’m looking forward to the next Rancho Del Cielo book and I also know whom I’d like to see as the main characters in it :)

Favorite Quotes:

Cole Engstrom never knew you could reverse-snort up a French fry, but there you have it. Someone call Guinness.

She gave him another of those rare smiles that always made some string in his body twang. Eyes bright and happy, she dipped her head down, never aware of the stutter she put in his step.

His hand in hers had been so warm. Worse, the stupid romantic in her had tingled like mad when he hadn’t been willing to let her go. Until he’d dropped her like a bug. Even that hadn’t done much to dim her body’s pathetically melty response. Thankfully, her sweater hid the fact that her nipples might as well have turned into neon blinkers proclaiming to all that the man had only to breathe on her to get her motor revving.

Her mouth, those plump pink lips with that delicate little mole above the left corner, was close enough for him to taste the mint on her breath. Did he want a booth? Hell no, he wanted a flat surface and absolutely no one around to interrupt.

He’d laughed when she’d threatened to intimately acquaint him with his putter, the jerk. In fact, the only reason he’d gotten out of that park without a bent club up his ass was because he’d taken the starch out of her with another kiss. A slow one, with his tongue gliding into her mouth and teasing the corners of her lips. She’d gotten drunk on his chocolatey taste, the feel of his chest against hers and the tempting stroke of his thumbs slipping under the waist of her panties through the back of her dress.

Oh yeah, this was more than trouble. It might just be a new, complicated form of homicide. Murder by willfully rushing the blood from the victim’s brain to his cock at speeds unsafe for the human body.

He let go of her shoulders and grabbed her hand, already pulling her back through the racks. “You wanted a real damn date, you’re getting a real damn date.” And everyone in town would know she was with him. “So if you don’t like it, that’s just too damn bad.”

She had a lot to learn still, about herself and certainly about dealing with him. He wouldn’t be maneuvered like this again. If her plan was to drive him crazy wanting her, then turnabout was fair play. Before he was done, Amanda Jackman was going to be climbing the walls for him. Wanting him. Craving him. Damn it, she was going to love him back enough to forgive him.
